Biography

Polly is an English actress, based in Dublin. Her recent credits include the critically acclaimed BBC police corruption drama Line of Duty, (Series 3), Marina Carr’s Low in the Dark produced by SQUAD Theatre Company, the outrageous musical comedy The Wise Wound directed by Philip Doherty at Smock Alley and Life After Fred, part of the Angels in the Park site-specific series of plays.   She co-adapted and starred in the one hour, three-hander Macbeth: Nothing is But What is Not at the Pearse Centre, where she played Lady Macbeth, and others. 

She trained with the Bull Alley Theatre Training Company for three years and performed extensively in full productions covering many periods and genres, including her favourites:  The Duchess of Gloucester (Richard II);  Peg Woffington (Masks & Faces);  Babette (Biedermann & The Firebugs), the Fourth Comrade in Howard Barker's catastrophic play No End of Blame, and Susan in Stephen Sondheim's musical Company.

Polly is a strong mover, a good alto ensemble singer, and has a keen interest in physical theatre.  Other training includes "Playing for your audience" and "Advanced Actor training" with Lovett Theatre Company, in association with the Abbey Theatre.
