A new play by Jane Coyle
Set in Dublin at Christmas 1915.
Wounded in body and spirit, Johnny McGrath returns from action on the Western Front to a city he barely recognises. He has unexpectedly inherited hundreds of glass lantern slides and decides to put them on show to tell the public the real story of the war. In the process he brings together two women from very different social backgrounds, united by a single tragic event that unfolded in the heat of battle. But there is more to the photographs than Johnny realises. As tension mounts all around him, he uncovers a piece of family history, which may help him to confront his own demons.
A rehearsed reading by a cast of excellent Irish and English actors: Cathy Brennan-Bradley, Hannah Coyle, James Doran, Julie Kinsella, Noel McGee, Keith Singleton, Libby Smyth
